My Story

Myranda Storm is a mixed-media artist from Vancouver, B.C., creating works on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Utilizing her educational background in art history, her status as a Professional Artist through the Canada Council for the Arts and over a decade of experience as an exhibitor with local galleries, Myranda creates whimsical paintings with a heavy focus on sustainability. Her love for nature and dedication to ecologically friendly materials stands as the backbone of her long standing artistic practice.

Myranda creates surreal and fantastical paintings of landscapes, portraits, plants and animals. Her works express her nature-based spirituality while incorporating her studies of medicinal herbs, which reflect her reverence for nature through enchanting mixed-media pieces. She has utilized environmentally friendly media throughout her career, prioritizing natural pigments and varnishes and incorporating reused materials such as expired cosmetics and upcycled art supplies. Myranda is currently experimenting with creating natural paints, and continually strives to increase sustainability in her artwork wherever possible.

As a self-taught artist, Myranda’s love of painting began in childhood. She first exhibited her artwork at the age of twelve at a local gallery, and went on to develop a successful independent studio practice throughout adolescence and early adulthood. After achieving a university degree in art history, Myranda continued to strengthen her ties within the arts community, joining the North and West Vancouver art associations and presenting in numerous exhibitions across the lower mainland. She has since cultivated an online brand and digital storefront alongside growing and maintaining her own subscription-based art video service.

Myranda’s tangible love for nature and her dedication to creating ecologically friendly, sustainable artwork continues to support the growth of her practice. She anticipates the release of a new collection in the upcoming fall, and is looking forward to further developing her artistic endeavors through new opportunities for growth.
